Private Jet Simpson Bay to Cancun

From Simpson Bay to Cancun the distance runs to roughly 1,356 nautical miles, a flight of about two hours and forty-five minutes connecting St Maarten’s lively harbour with the Yucatan coast. Aircraft in the super mid-size category, a Gulfstream G280 or Citation Longitude among the common choices, are well matched to this leg, with range to spare and a cabin tall enough for passengers to move about freely during the crossing. Princess Juliana International Airport, known among aviation enthusiasts for its low approach over Maho Beach, provides the departure, and pilots operating there are accustomed to the runway’s compact dimensions and the island’s shifting winds. Once established at cruise, typically in the low forties of thousands of feet, the routing runs largely over open water before reaching the Mexican coast and continuing to Cancun International Airport. Guests arriving in Cancun exchange St Maarten’s dual Dutch-French character for a resort landscape built along a narrow barrier spit, with the hotel zone’s beaches on one side and a calm lagoon on the other. Nearby, the reef systems off Isla Mujeres and Puerto Morelos draw snorkellers, while inland the ruins at Chichen Itza and Coba remain popular full-day excursions. Catering on this sector typically covers a light meal or substantial snack service depending on the time of departure, and the enclosed lavatory and forward galley found on most aircraft in this class make the crossing comfortable for a full party. This pairing is frequently chartered by guests closing out an Eastern Caribbean stay before a second stop in the Riviera Maya, treating the flight as a straightforward same-day repositioning.
