Private Jet St John to Tempe

VC Bird International Airport serves Antigua, an island famous for its claim of 365 beaches, one for every day of the year, and for Nelson’s Dockyard, a restored eighteenth-century naval base that still anchors the island’s deep sailing heritage each Antigua Sailing Week. The sector onward to Tempe covers approximately 2,685 nautical miles, a distance well handled by a super mid-size jet such as the Gulfstream G280 or Citation Longitude, cruising near 45,000 feet for a flight that typically runs just under five hours. The route crosses the Gulf of Mexico before descending into the Arizona desert, trading Antigua’s turquoise coastline for Tempe’s dry desert heat and the university energy surrounding Arizona State University. Leisure travellers extending an Antiguan holiday, along with a smaller number of sailing industry professionals tied to the island’s yacht charter economy, make up much of the demand on this pairing. A direct charter avoids the San Juan or Miami connection that a commercial itinerary between Antigua and Phoenix would typically require, consolidating what might otherwise be most of a day’s travel into a single continuous sector. A super mid-size cabin’s genuine stand-up height and proper galley suit a flight approaching five hours particularly well. Arrival in Tempe often leads directly on to a round of golf at one of Scottsdale’s resort courses, a fitting pairing with a week spent on Antigua’s beaches and harbours. English Harbour’s restaurants, clustered around the restored dockyard, offer a relaxed final evening for travellers before the long sector west. Many visitors also arrange a short sail to neighbouring Barbuda, known for its pink-sand beaches and far quieter pace, before the aircraft departs for Arizona.
