Private Jet St Moritz to Grand Rapids

The route linking St Moritz with Grand Rapids measures roughly 3,815 nautical miles, placing it at the longer end of the Alpine charter sectors into Michigan. Flights depart from Engadin Airport, perched at altitude in the Engadine valley and one of the highest commercial airfields in Europe, a detail that itself calls for careful performance planning on departure before the long transatlantic leg begins. Once airborne, a Gulfstream G550 or Bombardier Global 6000 provides the range and cabin comfort needed for the crossing, cruising at altitudes approaching 45,000 feet where the air is calmer and fuel burn more efficient than at lower levels. On arrival, Grand Rapids offers a complete change of scenery from the high peaks of the Engadine: a Great Lakes city known historically as Furniture City, now equally celebrated for its craft brewing scene, the Frederik Meijer Gardens and Sculpture Park, and the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Museum. Gerald R. Ford International Airport sits close to downtown and within a short drive of Lake Michigan’s shoreline. This pairing suits St Moritz regulars with business or family ties in the Midwest, as well as groups looking to follow an Alpine winter season with time exploring one of America’s lesser-known but increasingly fashionable mid-sized cities. St Moritz’s winter season, anchored by events such as White Turf horse racing on the frozen lake, keeps demand for Engadin slots high through January and February. Grand Rapids offers a calmer counterpoint on arrival, with a walkable downtown along the Grand River that has undergone significant redevelopment in recent years.
