Private Jet St Moritz to Horseshoe Bay Resort

St Moritz to Horseshoe Bay Resort covers approximately 4,657 nautical miles, connecting the glamorous Swiss Alpine resort with the golf resorts of the Texas Hill Country. Departing Engadin Airport, one of the highest airports in Europe and a field demanding careful aircraft selection, a Gulfstream G650ER or Global 7500 typically repositions to handle the long transatlantic sector, cruising at up to 51,000 feet for a flight time of around eight and a half hours across the Alps, the Atlantic and the American South. Guests leaving behind St Moritz’s frozen lake and grand hotels settle into a long haul cabin before arriving at a considerably warmer, lower altitude landscape at Horseshoe Bay, where three Robert Trent Jones Jr courses trace the shoreline of Lake LBJ. The surrounding Hill Country, with its wine region near Fredericksburg and the swimming holes of the Pedernales River, offers St Moritz’s summer visitors a golf and lake based programme well suited to the warmer months between winter seasons. This route serves European families and executives who maintain a St Moritz property alongside interests in Texas, avoiding the multiple connections a commercial itinerary through a major hub would otherwise require for a journey of this length and complexity. Given the specialised ultra long range aircraft required and the logistics of departing from a high altitude Alpine airport, operators generally recommend booking this sector well in advance, allowing time to confirm crew, catering and any documentation needed for an international arrival into Texas. Guests accustomed to St Moritz’s grand hotel tradition tend to find a comparable level of service at Horseshoe Bay, if delivered with a distinctly Texan warmth, and many extend their stay with a day trip into Austin for its restaurants and live music before the long journey home.
