Private Jet Telluride to Huntington Beach

Telluride Regional Airport, among the highest-elevation commercial airports in the United States, is the departure point for a 565-nautical-mile hop to Huntington Beach, a sector flown in a little over an hour by aircraft ranging from turboprops to super mid-size jets. Given the airport’s high elevation and the surrounding San Juan Mountains, operators pay particular attention to aircraft performance on departure, with cruise altitudes typically settling between 33,000 and 39,000 feet once clear of the terrain. Telluride itself is one of Colorado’s most celebrated ski and festival towns, its Victorian-era main street framed by dramatic peaks that draw skiers in winter and music lovers to its famous bluegrass and film festivals each summer. Huntington Beach could hardly offer a more different landscape on arrival: flat, sandy and sea-level, with a historic pier and a surf culture that has made the city one of the most recognised beach towns in the country. John Wayne Airport receives flights, close to Orange County’s business districts and the yacht harbours of Newport Beach. This route suits mountain-to-coast travellers splitting their time between Telluride’s ski season and a Southern California base, particularly during the winter months and around the town’s popular summer festival calendar. Given Telluride’s challenging high-altitude operating conditions and its popularity during peak ski weeks, The Jet Collection advises booking this sector with reasonable notice to secure the right aircraft for the airport’s specific performance requirements and runway length restrictions at that altitude throughout the entire ski season of each and every year. Weight restrictions at altitude can also limit full-fuel departures.
