Private Jet Tortola to Spokane

Roughly 3,111 nautical miles separate Tortola, in the British Virgin Islands, from Spokane, a distance that puts the sector comfortably within the range of a heavy jet such as the Gulfstream G550 or a super-mid-size Bombardier Challenger 350, either of which can complete the crossing in around six hours at a cruise altitude near 43,000 feet, well above the tropical weather that regularly builds over the Caribbean basin. Terrance B. Lettsome Airport, on Beef Island, handles a busy mix of charter and scheduled traffic, and its private aviation apron is well accustomed to the seasonal surge that comes with the BVI’s yachting and holiday calendar, particularly around the winter regatta season when slots can tighten with little warning. Spokane, on arrival, trades the turquoise water and green hills of Tortola for the drier air and open farmland of Washington’s Inland Northwest, a region built on wheat, timber and an increasingly diversified economy. The Spokane River tumbles over falls right in the heart of downtown, framed by Riverfront Park and its legacy from the 1974 World’s Fair, while Gonzaga University supplies the city’s collegiate energy and a devoted basketball following. The Selkirk Mountains rise within an easy drive for skiing in winter. Families and yacht owners with a base in the BVI and business or personal ties to the Pacific Northwest make up much of the demand for this pairing, and because no scheduled airline links the two cities without at least one, often lengthy, connection, chartering directly is less an indulgence than the only sensible way to travel with luggage, provisions or crew in tow.
