Private Jet Nantucket to Huntington Beach

Nantucket, the historic whaling island off the coast of Massachusetts, lies approximately 2,303 nautical miles from Huntington Beach, a transcontinental sector that suits mid-size and super mid-size jets flying in around four and a half hours. Aircraft such as the Gulfstream G280 cruise near 43,000 feet on this route, high enough to clear the weather systems that regularly affect the Northeast corridor during the island’s busy summer season. Flights depart Nantucket Memorial Airport, a gateway that sees a dramatic surge in private traffic each July and August as the island’s cobblestone streets and grey-shingled cottages fill with seasonal residents. Landing in Huntington Beach brings travellers to an entirely different stretch of American coastline: a wide, flat beach built for surfing rather than sailing regattas, a pier extending into the Pacific swell, and a town whose calendar revolves around the US Open of Surfing rather than the Opera House Cup. John Wayne Airport serves as the arrival point, putting Orange County’s business districts and the yacht harbours of Newport Beach within easy reach. This pairing suits East Coast families with a summer base on Nantucket who also maintain a Southern California home, as well as Californians curious about New England’s most storied island retreat. Given Nantucket’s notoriously congested summer airspace and limited ramp space, The Jet Collection strongly recommends booking this route well ahead of peak season, when slot availability becomes the single biggest constraint on departure timing for private operators flying in and out of the island throughout those crowded summer weekends.
