Tianjin Binhai International Airport (TSN) is located in Dongli District, about 13 km east of central Tianjin and around 120 km south-east of Beijing. It has two parallel runways: 16R/34L at 3,600 metres (11,811 feet) and 16L/34R at 3,200 metres (10,499 feet). The airport sits at an elevation of 10 feet (3 metres) at coordinates 39.1244° N, 117.3461° E.
The airport site also hosts the Airbus A320 family final assembly line, operating since 2008, and an A330 completion and delivery centre, which makes Tianjin an aerospace town as well as a port. For private aviation, both runways suit business jets of every size. Binhai is well placed for the Binhai New Area, the Yujiapu financial district and the port, and the historic centre and Five Great Avenues are a short drive away. With high-speed rail and expressways to the capital, it can also serve as an alternative gateway for travellers heading to Beijing. Private flights into mainland China require landing and overflight permits arranged in advance. The Jet Collection handles permits, slots and ground handling at Binhai, and organises cars into Tianjin or on to Beijing.
