Private Jet Doha to Timphou

Hamad International Airport lies roughly 2,051 nautical miles from Paro International Airport, a sector comfortably handled by a Gulfstream G280 or Challenger 350, both of which cruise efficiently near 43,000 to 45,000 feet across the four-hour crossing over the Arabian Sea and northern India. Hamad’s extensive business aviation infrastructure, among the most developed in the Gulf, allows for a swift, well-organised departure regardless of time of day. Arrival at Paro International Airport marks a sharp change in both scenery and flying complexity: the runway sits within a steep Himalayan valley flanked by summits above 18,000 feet, and the approach remains restricted to a select group of pilots holding specific certification for the airfield. Bhutan, once reached, reveals a kingdom built on entirely different priorities to the fast-growing Gulf. It is the world’s only carbon-negative nation, its forests mandated by constitution to cover the majority of its land, and tourism is deliberately capped through a Sustainable Development Fee rather than pursued at volume. Thimphu, the capital, remains the only one on earth without a single traffic light, its main crossing still directed by hand. For Qatari and regional travellers, this relatively short sector offers one of the more accessible routes into Bhutan, whether the draw is the cliffside Tiger’s Nest monastery, the fortress of Punakha Dzong, or simply a kingdom that measures its progress through Gross National Happiness rather than GDP. The mid-size cabin keeps the journey efficient without sacrificing comfort, making this a practical yet genuinely memorable addition to a wider Gulf-based charter itinerary. Few sectors from the region offer such a complete change of landscape and pace within a single afternoon’s flying.
