Private Jet Exumas to Oxnard

Exumas and Oxnard are separated by roughly 2,346 nautical miles, a sector suited to a mid-size or super-mid-size jet, with the crossing from Exuma Airport typically taking around four and a half hours, cruising at altitudes up to 45,000 feet above the Exumas’ famous turquoise shallows before heading west across the Gulf and the American Southwest. Oxnard, at the far end, offers a complete change of landscape from the Exumas’ low-lying cays and swimming pigs: a working Ventura County coastal city whose Channel Islands Harbor is the main departure point for boat trips into Channel Islands National Park. The surrounding Oxnard Plain remains intensively farmed, strawberries and lemons grown close to the shoreline, and the city’s beaches are considerably quieter than the postcard sandbars of the Exumas themselves. Santa Barbara’s wine country lies within an hour’s drive for those continuing inland. This route is often flown by Exumas-based property owners and yacht charter guests extending their trip to the American mainland, many with business interests across Southern California, who prefer Oxnard’s calm arrival to the volume of Los Angeles International. Families will find the Channel Islands offer a different but equally memorable day on the water, trading the Exumas’ shallow cays for sea caves and kelp forests once settled on the Pacific side of a genuinely long journey. Most passengers take the shift from the Exumas’ shallow banks to the open Pacific in their stride, treating it as the natural midpoint of a longer journey rather than an ending in itself. A short transfer from the terminal brings travellers quickly to the harbour, the beach, or the road inland towards the wine country beyond.
