Private Jet Hailey to Grand Rapids

The 1,251 nautical mile sector between Hailey and Grand Rapids suits a super mid-size jet such as the Gulfstream G280 or Challenger 350, both completing the crossing in just under three hours while cruising comfortably in the low-to-mid 40,000s above the Rockies and the Great Plains. Friedman Memorial Airport, serving the Sun Valley resort area of central Idaho, sees significant seasonal demand from winter sports visitors, and its mountainous surroundings make careful performance planning an important part of arranging departures for aircraft operating near their weight limits. The additional range and cabin space of a super mid-size jet are particularly useful given both the distance and the terrain-driven weather common to the region. Grand Rapids presents arriving passengers with a striking contrast to the Sawtooth and Pioneer mountain ranges, a flat Midwestern city whose economy rests on furniture manufacturing, healthcare and a craft brewing scene dense enough to have earned national recognition. The Frederik Meijer Gardens and Sculpture Park and the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Museum rank among its leading attractions. This route suits travellers concluding a ski trip in the Sun Valley area with business interests in West Michigan, a direct link that spares passengers the multiple connections a scheduled itinerary out of a smaller Idaho mountain airport would typically demand during the height of the winter season. Sun Valley’s reputation as one of America’s original ski resorts draws a loyal following each winter, and many repeat visitors fly this exact corridor season after season. Summer visitors drawn to the valley’s hiking and festival calendar keep the corridor active well beyond the traditional ski season.
