Private Jet Mahé to Timphou

Mahé, the main island of the Seychelles, and Timphou lie approximately 2,772 nautical miles apart, a distance well suited to a super mid-size jet such as the Bombardier Challenger 350 or Gulfstream G280, both offering the range and cruise performance to complete the crossing comfortably in a single leg. Flying at altitudes up to around 45,000 feet keeps the aircraft above much of the weather typical of the western Indian Ocean and the approach to South Asia. Seychelles International Airport serves as the departure point, a well-equipped gateway accustomed to handling private aviation traffic connecting the islands with destinations across Africa, the Gulf and Asia. Arrival at Paro International Airport brings guests to one of the most distinctive airports anywhere, set within a narrow Himalayan valley surrounded by peaks exceeding 18,000 feet, with landings restricted to a small number of pilots holding specific local certification. Weekend markets in Thimphu, a short drive from Paro, remain a popular showcase for the handwoven textiles and crafts produced across the kingdom’s scattered valleys. Bhutan’s constitution also requires that at least sixty percent of the country remain forested, a rule that has helped make it one of the world’s few genuinely carbon-negative nations. This route links two islands and highlands rarely mentioned in the same sentence, suiting travellers drawn to distinctive, carefully managed destinations, whether for conservation work, cultural exploration or high-altitude trekking, with the super mid-size cabin providing ample comfort for the several hours the crossing demands. Guests travelling this route often remark on just how different the two ends of the journey feel, and the super mid-size cabin gives ample room to rest and adjust before the altitude change that awaits on arrival at Paro.
