Private Jet Montauk to Horseshoe Bay Resort

Montauk Airport, at the far eastern tip of Long Island, is about 1,425 nautical miles from Horseshoe Bay Resort in the Texas Hill Country. A mid-size jet such as a Citation Latitude or Learjet 60 covers the distance efficiently, cruising near 41,000 feet for a flight of roughly two and a half hours down across the Mid-Atlantic and the Deep South before descending toward Lake LBJ, a duration that fits comfortably into a single afternoon. Montauk is the quintessential end-of-the-island escape for New Yorkers, its lighthouse, surf beaches and low-key fishing village atmosphere standing in deliberate contrast to the more manicured Hamptons further west. Horseshoe Bay Resort offers its own brand of retreat, three championship golf courses and a busy marina built around Lake LBJ, with a private airstrip on the property that spares arriving guests any further driving. The route suits East Coast travellers pairing a summer stint in Montauk with a golf trip to the Hill Country, as well as anyone maintaining homes or business interests in both regions. Flying directly from Montauk’s small airfield avoids the drive back toward JFK or a connection through a larger New York hub, and because both ends of the journey are served by uncrowded, resort-proximate airports, the entire trip from one clubhouse or one beach to the other can be completed without the usual friction of commercial connections. Operators flying this leg regularly note how much time is saved simply by skipping the drive back to a major New York airport, a factor that often matters more to Montauk-based travellers than the flight time itself.
