Private Jet Moscow to Madeira

Few charter sectors illustrate Europe’s geographic breadth quite like Moscow to Madeira, a 2,633 nautical mile diagonal that carries passengers from the Russian capital’s continental winters to a subtropical island barely off the coast of Morocco. A heavy business jet is the sensible choice here; the Gulfstream G550 covers the distance comfortably with generous reserves, while operators seeking a slightly smaller cabin often turn to the Challenger 650 for its efficient long-range performance and quiet interior. Both aircraft cruise well above 41,000 feet, keeping the flight smooth and clear of most weather systems along the way. Departures are available from either Sheremetyevo International Airport or Vnukovo International Airport, the latter long favoured by private operators for its dedicated business aviation terminal and faster turnaround. On arrival, Madeira Airport’s dramatic clifftop runway delivers guests directly into an island landscape of terraced hillsides and volcanic peaks rising sharply from the Atlantic. Funchal, the capital, rewards exploration on foot, its old town anchored by a working fish market and a cable car climbing to the botanical gardens above the bay, with views stretching across the harbour on clear days. Visitors from Moscow in particular tend to find the contrast striking: mild year-round temperatures, flowering jacaranda trees, and a pace of life shaped by fishing and wine rather than snow. The route suits travellers seeking a genuine seasonal escape rather than a short break, given the flight time involved, and rewards those willing to commit a full day’s travel with an island largely spared the crowds of mainland Portugal or the Canaries. Late spring and early autumn tend to offer the most agreeable combination of light and temperature for arriving guests.
