Private Jet Nantucket to San José del Cabo

Nantucket sits some 2,268 nautical miles from San Jose del Cabo, a coast-to-coast crossing that carries travellers from New England’s Atlantic waters to the Pacific side of Mexico’s Baja peninsula. Super mid-size jets handle this distance well as a single leg, the Gulfstream G280 a common choice, cruising at altitudes around 43,000 to 45,000 feet where the ride typically stays smooth for the roughly four and a half hours in the air. Nantucket Memorial Airport, well accustomed to seasonal private traffic, keeps departure straightforward even during the island’s busiest summer months. At the other end, Los Cabos International Airport opens onto a landscape of desert bluffs and turquoise water quite unlike anything on Nantucket’s shingle beaches. San Jose del Cabo’s historic centre, with its whitewashed mission church and shaded plaza, has developed a genuine arts community, most visible during the Thursday evening Art Walk through the surrounding galleries. Offshore, the meeting of the Sea of Cortez and the open Pacific creates rich fishing grounds, and striped marlin remain the signature catch for charters working out of the marina at Puerto Los Cabos. Given the seasonal rhythm of both destinations, this route is frequently flown by families and groups transitioning from a New England summer to a Baja winter, effectively bookending the calendar between two coasts. A direct charter avoids the multiple connections a commercial itinerary of this length would typically involve, particularly from an island airport with limited scheduled service. Many charters also time departure around the island’s summer ferry congestion, using the private terminal to sidestep the peak-season queues that build at the main airport.
