Private Jet Timphou to Vancouver

Few departure points anywhere test an aircraft and its crew quite like Paro International Airport, ringed by Himalayan peaks that rise well above 18,000 feet and long regarded as one of the most technically demanding airports in the world, cleared for only a small number of specially certified pilots. From there it is 6,083 nautical miles to Vancouver, Washington, a route that trades Bhutan’s mountain kingdom for the gentler landscape of the Columbia River. The Gulfstream G650ER and Bombardier Global 7500 are the natural choice for a leg of this length, each with a range approaching 7,000 nautical miles and a cruise ceiling up to 51,000 feet, their cabins fitted with dedicated rest suites for the many hours spent crossing the Pacific between the two very different landscapes. Bhutan, the last Buddhist kingdom in the Himalayas and famed for measuring progress through Gross National Happiness rather than GDP alone, gives way after departure to an ocean crossing that ends at Pearson Field, among the oldest continuously operating airfields in the United States and set directly on the Columbia River opposite Portland, Oregon. Mount Hood and the Cascade peaks rise beyond the runway in an echo, on a far smaller scale, of the mountains left behind at Paro, while the Willamette Valley’s vineyards and Portland’s technology sector lie within easy reach. This route suits seasoned travellers already accustomed to Bhutan’s carefully managed tourism and its emphasis on measured, mindful travel, offering them a similarly considered, private way to reach the Pacific Northwest without the multiple connections a commercial itinerary from Paro would otherwise demand, and without the added complexity of Paro’s own operational restrictions once airborne, leaving them free to focus on the Pacific Northwest’s own mountains rather than the flight itself.
