Private Jet Wood Buffalo to Irving

Fort McMurray International Airport, serving the Wood Buffalo region of Alberta, is the starting point for this 1,608 nautical mile flight to Irving, Texas, typically flown in a Gulfstream G550 or Bombardier Global 6000 in around three and a quarter hours, factoring in the customs clearance an international crossing of this length requires. Wood Buffalo sits at the centre of Canada’s oil sands industry, one of the largest energy developments on the planet, drawing engineers, tradespeople and executives from around the world to a landscape of boreal forest and industrial infrastructure in roughly equal measure. Arrival into Dallas Love Field brings passengers into Irving’s Las Colinas district, home to the global headquarters of several major oil and gas companies with direct operational and investment ties to Alberta’s oil sands. Few city pairs in this network share as direct and substantial an industry connection as this one, with energy executives moving between the two on a regular basis for exactly that reason. A heavy jet on this route offers a full stand-up cabin, proper galley and range reserves well suited to the more demanding winter weather both Fort McMurray and, less frequently, North Texas can experience. This route particularly suits oil sands executives, engineers and energy investors moving between Wood Buffalo’s production heartland and the corporate concentration around Las Colinas, for whom a direct flight avoids the multiple connections through Calgary or Edmonton that a scheduled itinerary of this distance would otherwise require. On a route this specialised and this long, having an operator who understands both ends of the journey makes a genuine difference.
