Private Jet Exumas to Wichita

Exuma Airport lies approximately 1,390 nautical miles from Wichita Dwight D. Eisenhower National Airport, a sector well suited to a light jet such as the Citation CJ4 or a super-mid-size Gulfstream G280 for larger groups, either completing the crossing in around two and three-quarter hours while cruising near 43,000 feet, above the scattered cumulus that frequently builds over these famously turquoise waters. Exuma’s small airport handles a healthy volume of private traffic year-round, reflecting the island chain’s growing reputation among yacht owners and second-home buyers alike. Wichita, the destination, has earned its nickname the Air Capital of the World through more than a century of continuous aircraft manufacturing, remaining home today to Textron Aviation and a substantial base of aerospace suppliers. Visitors with time to spare might visit the Wichita Art Museum or the landscaped grounds near the Keeper of the Plains sculpture where the city’s two rivers converge. This route serves owners of Exuma’s growing collection of private homes and resorts, along with sailing and diving enthusiasts drawn to the island’s famous swimming pigs and Thunderball Grotto, a pairing scheduled airlines cannot offer without a connection through Nassau or South Florida. A private charter removes that inconvenience entirely, and the moderate sector length keeps scheduling flexible even for last-minute travel plans. Exuma’s swimming pigs at Big Major Cay have become something of a global phenomenon, drawing a steady stream of day-trippers by boat and seaplane, while the island’s deeper appeal for long-term visitors remains its genuinely undeveloped beaches and the crystalline water of the Exuma Cays Land and Sea Park.
