Private Jet Exumas to Ontario

Exuma Airport, the low-rise gateway to the string of cays that make up the Exumas, sits around 1,721 nautical miles from Ontario, California, a distance that a well-equipped super mid-size jet such as the Bombardier Challenger 350 handles without difficulty, cruising near 43,000 feet across the Gulf of Mexico and the American Southwest on a single tank. Choosing an aircraft with genuine range margin matters on this sector, since headwinds over the desert Southwest can add meaningfully to flight time, and the Challenger 350’s published range comfortably absorbs that variability while still landing with healthy reserves. The Exumas have become shorthand among Caribbean travellers for turquoise water and barely-there development, a chain of more than 350 cays where swimming pigs and nurse sharks draw as much attention as the beaches, and private aviation remains the only realistic way to reach many of its smaller settlements at all. At the opposite end of the route, Ontario International Airport serves Southern California’s Inland Empire, a region bordered by the San Gabriel Mountains and increasingly popular with private travellers for its quick ground handling compared with the congestion typical of Los Angeles International. A super mid-size cabin on a flight of this length typically offers a flat floor, a proper lavatory and enough galley capacity for a full meal service across the roughly four-hour sector, a meaningful step up from the lighter jets that struggle to reach this distance at all. This pairing suits Bahamas property owners with a base in Southern California, along with brokers arranging seasonal transfers for clients who split their year between the two coasts. Repeat visitors often cite the ease of avoiding a Nassau connection as the main draw of flying this corridor privately rather than commercially.
