Private Jet Fort Lauderdale to Horseshoe Bay Resort

A journey of about 999 nautical miles connects Fort Lauderdale to Horseshoe Bay Resort, tracing a path from South Florida’s yacht basins across the Gulf of Mexico into the Texas Hill Country. The flight leaves Fort Lauderdale Hollywood International Airport, a major centre for private aviation in South Florida, and a Phenom 300 or Challenger 350 suits the distance well, cruising for a flight time of a little over two hours that keeps the trip practical for a long weekend. Guests departing the marinas and Art Deco streets of Fort Lauderdale arrive at a resort built around a different kind of shoreline, with Horseshoe Bay’s marina opening onto the calm freshwater of Lake LBJ and its three Robert Trent Jones Jr courses offering a hillier round than most South Florida clubs. The wider Hill Country, including the vineyards near Fredericksburg and the swimming holes of the Pedernales River, gives South Florida visitors a different but equally rewarding outdoor programme, particularly appealing during the humid summer months when a drier Texas climate offers some relief. This route is regularly used by Fort Lauderdale based families and executives with second homes or club memberships in the Hill Country, as well as by groups extending a South Florida boat show or business trip with a golf weekend in Texas. Fort Lauderdale’s airport handles considerable private jet traffic, particularly during the winter season, so operators generally recommend arranging departures with reasonable notice at that time of year, though outside peak months the route remains one of the more flexible and quickly booked sectors on this network.
